Station prices are read as often as each country publishes them, from every few minutes to every hour. Set prices land the day they are announced. Benchmarks update with each day's close.
Daily crude benchmarks from 1986, pump prices back to 1979 where the record goes that far, and every station price from the first day we hold it. Nothing is thrown away.
In a header, either X-API-Key or Authorization: Bearer. A key in the address is refused, so it never ends up in a log. You can rotate it in your account and the old one keeps working for 24 hours.
Yes. Add https://oilapi.net/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code and sign in once. The assistant calls the API with your own key, so your plan and limits apply.

153 today, from every station in countries that publish them to a national average or a set price elsewhere. The coverage table above lists each country, what we hold and how far back it goes, and it grows every week.
Real prices a day behind in every country, 50 calls a day, daily benchmark closes and the MCP server. Fields that need a paid plan come back empty with a note naming the plan, so your code keeps working when you upgrade.
Add currency to any call. Prices are converted at that day's rate, and the original price and currency are kept beside the converted one.
Each country's own currency and unit: per litre for nearly all of them, per gallon where that is how the price is set. Every answer states its unit and currency, and any price converts to dollars or any other currency on request.
